ClassCyc’s owner, Celeste, is a certified Spinning instructor through Madd Dog Athletics. Spinning and boxing are her two favorite fitness activities. Her love of fitness began when she started beach volleyball at the age of ten. She even competed in two pro beach volleyball tournaments in her twenties. Celeste is a UCSB graduate in Interdisciplinary studies. She’s also a 4.5 rated tennis player and enjoys golf in her free time. Helping people who don’t consider themselves an athlete to enjoy the benefits of exercise puts a big smile on her face! Celeste’s favorite quote is, “Fitness is not about being better than someone else…it’s about being better than you used to be.”
Amy received her Bachelors in Business Management from Antioch University of Santa Barbara in 2015. She attained her Personal Training Certification in 2016 through National College of Exercise Professionals and is also Spin Certified through Schwinn. She’s completed 3 half marathons and in her free time trains boxing and kickboxing. Amy just competed in her first powerlifting meet where she was judged off her squat, bench, and deadlift. She set a new personal best record in deadlift and squat! She’s also taught small group classes in strength training at Cathedral Oaks Athletic club and a boxing bootcamp class at Santa Barbara Athletic Club. She now continues to spread her passion here at ClassCyc Fitness where she is also the General Manager.
Nate is a local who grew up playing soccer and baseball. Sports and fitness have always been apart of his lifestyle. When he was 18 he enlisted in the military and served for four years in Afghanistan apart of the infantry. Once he returned home, he re-enrolled in school and is now a senior at Westmont College currently working towards attaining his Bachelors in Kinesiology. Nate coaches sport specific athletes at Titan in the Page Youth Center and at local high schools as well. He’s a certified coach through USA powerlifting and is also spin certified through Schwinn. In his free time, Nate likes to train boxing, kickboxing, and powerlifting. Nate also just competed in his first powerlifting meet where he set new personal records in his squat, bench, and deadlift!
Cindy is a fitness and nutrition professional, and elite level athlete with a passion to help her community find fullness and abundance of life through fitness and proper nutrition. She holds a BS in Nutrition and is certified as a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition coach. She is an NASM certified personal trainer and AFAA certified group fitness instructor. She is certified as an indoor cycling instructor through Schwinn, and she is a running and multisport coach. Cindy is a competitive runner, duathlete and triathlete and holds national champion status as a masters runner and is the 2018 ITU Sprint Duathlon World Champion (50-54). As an indoor cycling instructor at ClassCyc Fitness, Cindy creates purposeful high intensity interval workouts that are ideal for any level of fitness. Whether you are an athlete looking to get stronger or are an exerciser seeking a healthy, safe workout, she knows how to help you to your goals and leave you feeling fulfilled. And she keeps it fun!
Terrance Brown loves utilizing his natural gift to encourage people to get and stay in shape both as a fitness instructor and as a motivational speaker. His ultimate goals are, to teach and inspire individuals to transform their lives while having fun doing it. Terrance understands that being fit isn’t just about the number on the scale: it’s about a lifestyle. He brings this infectious passion for health wellness, and most importantly, self-love, to every class that he teaches and every person that he encounters. Browns style of cycling is a rhythmic dance/spinning class accompanied with great music! Just imagine transferring your dance moves from the dance floor to the spinning class! Terrance is spin certified through Madd Dog Athletics and has been spinning for 3 years. He’s also a certified trainer through American Council on Exercise and International Sports Sciences Association. Terrance trains football, baseball, and basketball players. He also specializes in cardio boxing and has been boxing since the age of 12! In Terrance’s spin class he focuses on burning calories, building muscle tone, increasing cardio endurance, relieving stress, reducing risks of injury, and most importantly, having fun!
Molly is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Schwinn Certified Cycling Instructor, and has a minor in Exercise and Sports Studies. She has a passion for helping people feel good. Whether it’s your first time in the gym or your thousandth, Molly can help you learn something new. She has been active all her life starting with dance, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse, which shifted into running, strength training, salsa dancing and rock climbing. As a trainer Molly helps clients see big picture goals and also smaller weekly ones. She focuses on functional fitness, generally combining strength with cardio, balance and power exercises. Most of all, Molly believes in the importance of laughing and breathing during a workout.
For Amanda, fitness has always been a huge part of her life. She specializes in endurance training and distance running, having already completed 2 full marathons and 3 half marathons. She’s spin certified through Schwinn and is currently working on attaining her NASM Personal Training Certification. She’s also very knowledgeable in nutritional and dietary needs. Amanda’s really passionate about promoting healthy and happy lifestyles and is known for giving people the push that they want/need!
Byron graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Music Studies. He performed as Antonio in UCSB opera’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro and is currently teaching music at a few elementary schools in the area. He’s spin certified with Schwinn and has been consistently coming to the classes here at ClassCyc for several months. From a young age, Byron has been active in many sports such as gymnastics, basketball, and tennis and has continued with basketball and tennis all his life. Byron is now the coach of the UCSB club tennis team and has coached tennis in multiple summer camps to students from children to adults in their 60s. As a musician, Byron seeks to incorporate all types of different music into his workouts. As an athlete, he seeks to base each workout on a different aspect of fitness such as cardio or strength, which can be translated to everyday life and sports. Byron seeks to promote health and fitness with his positive and goofy mindset.
